Although I was not able to get his name, I do know this. This guy is freakin' cool. Some AT&T customer support dude came to my house to fix the cable, and I thought he was going to be either an asshole with a goatee, or some boring dude with a goatee. Well, I was pleasantly surprised (not about the goatee) when he walked into my game room. He asked me if my ION Drum Set was an electric drum set, and I told him that they work for Rock Band 2. He said that he also had Rock Band 2, but had a drum set that was nothing like the one I had. He then asked me what level of difficulty I play and stuff, if I had beaten the game, blah blah blah. When he got into my mother room (where apparently the problem was coming from), he started telling me about how he has PS3, Wii, 360, and apparently all these other consoles and how he's been a gamer for longer than I've been born. He ended up being a Sony fanboy, but he was cool. He also seemed to know a lot about the industry as well. (Oh, I remember! He said he was 29!) Although he told me that he had to go (because there was no one older than the age of 18 in the house), he asked me to prove that I am indeed awesome. While I was setting up Rock Band 2, he was also telling me that he has been in a couple of real bands as well (he plays the drums). I amazed him with my completion of Painkiller on Expert Guitar. Soon after, he was telling me how playing the real guitar was not that hard, that some of the notes you have to hit aren't really there (I knew that) and there aren't as much strums as it sounds (which I didn't know!), While I was switching for Guitar Hero III just because I wanted to, he told me how he plays the Rock Band Drums on Expert but only played Guitar on Hard. I then wondered for a while why he could be that good (the drums are HARD!) but not be as good on the Guitar. He answered my question pretty quickly after he showed me that his middle and ring finer are half gone (I didn't hear the story of how that happened, though. I think it would have offended him to ask), which really surprised me! Now I was even more impressed that he could play the Guitar at all! I then passed the TTFaF intro riff for him, we said bye and he left. I wish I could have caught his name, because that guy, is awesome.
Ok. So, I went to my friend's house for some party, and I had quite an experience.
First, I tried playing the drums fo realz, and I have to say it actually kind of works! Maps works the best, of course, but Reptilia and Wave of Mutilation work too! I tried Dani California, the cymbals just didn't sound right though. 3's and 7's worked fine too!
Next, I played some Guitar Hero III(not going to talk about it) and Halo 3(I have officially lost all skill).
Finally, we went inside his uncle's room to play some PS3. I played two games.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Assassin's Creed
Now, I don't know if this is for all games, but why is there always this warning about something relating to the disk? I also noticed that there actually was a loading screen at the beggining of Assassin's Creed. Does it seriously take that long? I also noticed that the PS3 version usually gets a better frame rate, but quickly switches back to a slow frame rate(like the Xbox 360, except without the better frame rate bursts), which makes the game seem unstable.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma(the original Ninja Gaiden ported to the PS3) is also a fun game, but the level of difficulty is freaking deadly. I mean, I only died 3 times, but it is very easy to get yourself killed if you don't know what your doing(the three times I died, I did not know how to use the Flying Swallow). The only boss battle I had was a very, VERY hard battle. So if this is the first battle, I can't even believe what Alma is like. It is a fun game, but getting killed is tiring, as soon after the three times I died, by the time I got to the horsemen in the second level, all i did was die.
So, that's my party. I swear I'll be updating VGNO soon!
Friday night,me and my friend went to my friend's house, showed him my l33t Guitar Hero 3 skills. Then, when both of my friends went to their World of Warcraft little room, I played lots of DDRMAX2...LOTS...standard.....nonstop.....then when I went to sleep, I accidentaly streached my leg to much that it hurt me...for about a minute....a LOT! I was crying in pain trying to get my mom to hear me...but then it went away....still felt it...
Saturday morning. Attempted to beat Raining Blood and One on Hard career to complete it...and SUCCEEDED! Then I battled Lou...took me about 3 tries because I got really lucky. And I felt FanTASTIC! Now, I'm halfway done with Expert. Then I went to a party and played some WiiPlay for the first time. Played some card games like Cheat and Texas Hold Em'...Then, I finally convinced my friend to play WarioWare with me...because his friends told him it was a really bad game...until NOW! We beat single player and it was a LOT of FUN! I could tell we were both embarrased when we watched some of the cutscenes in front of every one....but then doing the wierdest of minigames didn't embarrass us! Then....This morning, I just played some Guitar Hero III, and somehow got Call of Duty 4 online working, and some skate. Then I ended up having to do my homework and typing this blog. That's pretty much it now. Back to work!....SHIT! 8:41PM and ABSOLUTLY NOTHING DONE!!!!!
EDIT: By the way, I just found out that I should be getting Rock Band next week so...Nother Review to get to!
